Regardless, I really can't see an adcom picking reading that line and scrutinizing the applicant's figurative motives. They'll probably read "oh they have a publication. Oh wait, it's not published yet". thatonekid in post no. 5 mentions his friend stated “publication pending”, that she was asked about it and it was considered no big deal and she got in at UofO. Yoda suggests “in review” or “submitted to….”. WaveSense suggests stay away from the word “pending”. xi88 used the words "in preparation". kkala has had more than enough discussion about the word "pending" to make an informed decision and after all, we are all here to give our best advice to a fellow pre-med to advance his/her position.
