Pathology residency electives policies

Is anyone aware of any Canadian pathology programs where they allow you to do a fellowship in the states as part of a 12-month final year elective?

 

I know generally that is not possible, and that if you do an elective in the States it needs to be done thru a residency program, not as a fellowship.

 

And for anyone who thinks this is a totally absurb question, please be aware that US AP programs are only 3 years long (they don't do a rotating PGY-1), so technically someone entering their 5th year of Canadian AP residency has had as much path training as someone who just completed an American AP residency.

I don't know about going to the States, but someone from Toronto AP did enough electives in forensics during his residency such that he also graduated with a forensics fellowship from Toronto.
