Highschool Awards??

For those of you that have been accepted to Ontario schools, did you include high school honors of distinction, such as graduating with highest grade in a course, etc. or is this too minor to include in the OMSAS sketch???

I put a couple of high school awards... highest mark in a class or whatever is 1 out of approx. 30 ppl... that's pretty good, why not include it

That said, I'm not going to put any awards other than grade 12, and definitely not high school honour roll

i'm putting on my award for top 3 avg out of the whole graduating class (~200)... but i agree with mattg that other than gr 12 i wouldnt add anything else

Thanks for the replies - with many applicants including more substantial awards at the university level, I just wasn't sure if such high school accomplishments would be considered that important...

Almost all my awards were from high school... I have about 10 of them so I don't know, I thought they were pretty important

i agree with the above...i put my grade 12 biology award, but not honour roll

i know the consensus is that high school honour roll isnt significant enough to be added to the sketch...but does anyone think University honour roll (dean's list) should be added?

 

it may be a bit redundant considering they have all your marks in front of them as well!

i put all the awards ive won since grade 10...just cuz i kept winning the same awards each year, which i felt showed consistency in my performance.
