what is more important for the MCAT - IQ or hard work?

hi everyone

 

i'm wondering if those of you who have written the MCAT could provide me with some insight.....i will be writing the MCAT later and i have been looking through some past tests etc

 

i was wondering if overall, people find that obtaining a good MCAT score is dependent more upon how "smart" you are and less upon how hard you work, or vice versa. i ask because having browsed through numerous posts on this website i have seen that people who re-write their MCAT still get around the same score.....so does that mean that the MCAT measures your aptitude more than how hard you work at it? so is it pretty much impossible to get a score that is 40+ if you're not exactly a 4.0 cGPA student?

LOL, does it matter? Work your ass off and do the ****ing thing right. Both are pre-requisites, but you can control how hard you work. Don't let natural intelligence be an excuse from putting work in. Lots of practice.

IMO IQ, but hard works helps if you need to review everything for a deadline.

Put it this way, my diagnostic was a 20, my final was a 31R on the real deal. It wasn't IQ alone that caused that change.
