When should burnout set in?

Hey fellow first years,

Are you starting to feel more tired going to class? Trying to find more activities to balance out your first year studies? Find yourselves filling up that coffee mug more than you used to, and certainly more than you know is good for you? Well, I am! I'm having a great time, and have no complaints; just wondering if I'm alone in these sentiments. Any takers?

Dfenst,

I can tell you that several times last year I found myself feeling the same thing. Sometimes just fed up with going to class, overwhelmed by the sheer volume of material and generally thinking that they must have made a mistake in taking me in because there is no way I can do this.

What often makes it worse is that you tend to think that you are the ONLY one thinking that way! Let me tell you, that if you take a straw poll of the other members of your class you will be relieved to know that the VAST majority have, are or will feel the exact same way.... at least if they have the confidence to admit they aren't perfect.

Good luck with Unit 2, your real initiation to med (Unit 1 was, well....)
