runningdoc
I don't know about the average person, but I certainly have been on my own for quite some time regarding insurance. Paying for dental hygenics, prescriptions, etc. kind of sucks. What I also know is that the University Health plans usually aren't very good. I was looking over the CMA website at their extended medical and dental coverage and I was wondering if (and how many) people have bought into this plan. Is it worth it? Have there been problems when trying to file a claim? The premium really doesn't seem that bad as their online calculator puts the price for myself + a dependent at under $200/year for both the medical and dental coverage while I am under 30. Also how many of you have gone further to look at things like critical illness, life insurance, disability, etc. Obviously they are pretty important things to look at. I booked an appointment to talk to MD Financial about all this stuff, but I figured going to the "real source" first might be a good idea.
