neuropsy
Has anyone pursued the Clinical Anatomy Masters program offered by Western - or any other school for that matter? Could you share your experiences? Has anyone gone on to medical school after having completed the program?
albertwilson
Cant give you accurate info bcos I am not sure, but i think it takes an extra year. Hell, I sure wouldnt wanna do a masters here. For med school, its ok, but other degrees- not worth the time and money, and in my opinion, you would get a better education in the states. But you have to see it yourself! inspiring-curmudgeon
I haven't pursued this program, but I heard that you do rotations in surgery, as well as teach med students anatomy. A grad student in my old program was in this program and said he really liked it.
emdee
Western isn't very well know for their grad programs, but this is a course based masters similar to the one at Queens, but 4-months longer. Since it is course-based, pursuing something afterward is limited. However, you can do a PhD in it and teach or work in anatomy labs across universities or colleges. I am assuming med is the path you would like to choose, in that sense, it is gives great exposure to anatomy & physiology, and you will know it very well. One person mentioned here that you are able to do surgery rotations, and that is correct, you get some OR time and thesis is usually done with MD prof (good reference & experience). Also, you should know that this program takes limited number of students, I think no more than 11 and the one at Queens take 8-ish.
