community hosptial vs academic major centre

in general what are the pros and cons of working in a community hospital vs a major/academic centre. im talking about areas like lifestyle, peer support, financially, resources, vacation time, call, academic freedom etc. pretty much anything you can thing off

It all depends on your specialty. Generally, however, major centres have more resources, more residents to take your call shifts, more people to cover your vacation time, and more research oppourtunities. As for lifestyle and financials it varies depending on the specialty.

Also, if you want to teach, teaching hospitals offer opportunities that other places do not for clinical and lecture-based teaching.
