Switching To Family?

Hi,

 

I'm thinking of switching over to family from a 5 year specialty program. I'm not particularly averse to my own program right now, no more so then to family med. I like and dislike certain aspects of both, and could really do either job (I think).

 

My big motivation, being frank, is to get out and start working. Getting tired of the whole being in school business.

 

If anyone has made the switch and is in GP residency/in practice, would you mind sharing some perspectives? Is family what you expected? What are some major negatives for you?
