switchit
Hello, I did a full standard first aid and CPR-C course last year in February and was certified by the Lifesaving Society (of Canada). For whatever reason, I just can't seem to find how long this certification is valid for. 1 year? 2 years? Does anyone know? I hope it is still ok, because UofT needs me to have first aid/CPR-C certification before August 23rd and it seems a bit late to do a full course now. Thanks! Jochi1543
I would contact the Lifesaving Society to confirm. I know the CPR-HCP I got through my paramedic class is valid for 3 years, but I think I've heard of some certificates only being valid for 2. DrMom
I received my certification this summer from the Canadian Red Cross and it expires after 3 years. (Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C). If they gave you a certification card, it should have your expiration right on it.
shannn
For the LSS, it's 2 years (I was an LSS instructor, so I'm 100% sure) There is a pdf file floating somewhere on the LSS site that states this, but you can always call them as well to verify. Renoir
Yeah, St. John recommends re-cert every year - people tend to lose their skills pretty quick. We offer a good one-day refresher, it saves having to take the full 2-3 days!

I thought Alberta was one of the only provinces where AED could be used by the public...
