NWOsw
Just as an FYI: NOSM's administrative, technical and clerical staff are currently on strike. Tango Charlie
Everything with the school as far as students are concerned is still good to go though. Expect to cross picket lines every day going onto the LU/NOSM campus until the strike clears however. The picketers show up at ~0700. You will be delayed pretty significantly. Even with school out when I drive by every day there are line-ups. Once classes start it's going to be a nightmare.
Cnussey
Painful. There seem to be a number of strikes across the country this summer--are they all interrelated?
NWOsw
What seems to be making things more complicated (at least in Ontario) is the government passed legislation and policy stating that workers in the public sphere should not receive wage increases for 2 years. Of course, if your collective agreement is up during this time, you will want some improvements - otherwise technically with inflation - you will be losing money each year. There have been strikes in other provinces too--dairy workers in NS, support workers in NL (people with disabilities were also out of jobs b/c their support workers were on strike--just awful).
