Butterscotch7777
Exactly how reflective are the AAMC tests of the real one? I've been hearing some stories about how the AAMC is so much easier than the real test.
rmorelan
Exactly how reflective are the AAMC tests of the real one? I've been hearing some stories about how the AAMC is so much easier than the real test. They actually were mcat exams so they are pretty reflective - however people often don't practise with them the same way the actual test is and I think that in part explain why there is sometimes so difficulties. How many people actually sit down and do a complete test all at once during practise? Probably not many but there is an endurance aspect to the real test - it is kind of like writing 3 back to back university exams with almost no time between them. Of course there less stress during practise as well.
Apixaban85
To be honest though, the real MCAT is definitely tougher than the AAMC tests, which can partly be attributed to the usual experimental passage they lodge into the real test which is usually quite difficult
neoteny
AAMC 3 - 8 are wayyyy easier than the real test. 9 and 10 are both easier than the real test, but with 10 you get some idea of the garbage that might come your way on test day. sparkles3288
I disagree. I took the MCAT last year (and will again in about 2 weeks) and found the real thing to be quite reflective of the AAMC exams. I agree with #3 being too easy though.. sparkles3288
I suppose so. A lot of the MCAT requires you to use your past info and apply it to new and unfamiliar situations (or experiments in passages). #3 could have a lot of it done without even reading the passages. The verbal was pretty up to par IMO.
