Guest MayFlower1 Posted September 21, 2002 Report Share Posted September 21, 2002 Ian, I changed mine as I couldn't remember my old password and I have changed my e-mail address as I believe our old friend "laura secord" spammed my account with so much porn I finally got fed up and changed internet providers to get a new email address. Guest MayFlower1 Posted September 24, 2002 Report Share Posted September 24, 2002 Thanks U of O Med...I did a lot of soul searching...watched the boards for a while...listened to other stories people had with respect to RLH and decided I'll be darned if I'm going to let that stop me from achieving my goals. I've significantly strengthened my application based on some serious introspection and also having had the advantage of going through this entire process once...I believe I know where I went wrong last year...it wasn't about what I've done, my motivations, academic prowess ...it was more about the way I presented during the interview and also timing issues between when I was laid off from Nortel and when I applied to med school...perception is everything, isn't it? Anyway, as I mentioned in another thread, I was volunteering with St. John Ambulance at the outdoor UofO frosh event at City Hall and the new "batch" of med students came by...I must admit it was bitter/sweet...it was "sweet" as the group looked excited, happy and just like a great group of individuals...I was extremely happy for them..."bitter" came more in the form of envy...my heart kind of sank when I saw them as I felt distinctly separated from a group with which I strongly identify and desire to be a part of. Anyway, a new year...a new outlook and opportunity, eh? Thanks for the support and warm welcome. Perhaps, should I be fortunate enough to get an interview again this year, you'll interview me? Talk to you soon. Actually, I'd really like to go out for a beer sometime to discuss your experiences within the program. James Wong has my cell phone number if you'd be interested, just get it from him and give me a buzz.
