case_sensitive
Does anybody know how easy or not easy it is get fellowship surgery training in the US? What programs tend to accept Canadians? I am completing my general surgery residency in Quebec, so will the whole language thing be a problem? hippie
It depends on what fellowship you are interested in, some are easy (trauma, vascular) others are hard (Peds, plastics) Most programs are canadian friendly

Like is there a difference between the northeast and midwest?
hippie
I don't know. I know for a fact that many program directors in the northeast are Canadian themselves and this definitely helps a lot. But you see fellows from canada all over when you look fellowships up... I think it's more dependent on how strong an applicant is.
A-Stark
A more relevant question might be, have you completed the USMLE?
case_sensitive
A more relevant question might be, have you completed the USMLE? Yeah, I completed the usmle step 1 and 2 back when I was in medical. I thought about doing my residency itself in the US, but decided to stay closer to home. I looking for advanced fellowship training south of the border as there seems to be more opportunities.
