Miranda82
Hi everyone, I have already applied for med school this year, but I am not sure my MCAT is going to be high enough in the verbal section. Would you suggest I just study for the verbal section if my only goal is to go to Mac? Thanks,
thatonekid
Well, if your only goal is Mac, then no one's stopping you from only studying verbal. But you're really limiting yourself that way.
Miranda82
That makes sense. My family is close to here so that's why I'm sticking with Mac. Thanks.
Laura126
I've heard a well rounded score looks the best. If your other scores are acceptable, then focus on the verbal if your planning to rewrite. I agree with the above response... you're only limiting yourself. future_doc
It is best to cast a wide net b/c you just don't know where lightning will strike and to put all your eggs in one basket is not the best approach. GL!
repede
Also, VR is extremely unpredictable. Even if you prepare a ton, it won't necessarily mean you'll do well on it. If you're paying $200 for the test, might as well do well on the other sections too!
Miranda82
Thanks very much for the advice, I really want to get into Mac, but I also applied to a bunch of other schools in Ontario too. How much is verbal weighted at U of T, Western, Queens, and Ottawa? Thanks you for any help!
thatonekid
Ottawa doesn't used the MCAT for admissions. Toronto, Queen's, and Western have cutoffs that you have to meet rather than the scores being weighted. The verbal cutoffs for this past application cycle were: Toronto: 9 Queen's: 10 Western:
