Chances?

hey guys im looking for some help here,

im a law student at sherbrooke university and by the time ill be appling to mcgill med my gpa will be about 3,6/4,3

if we suppose my autobio and cv's are average what do you think are my chances of making it to the interviews??

Firstly, whatever you do, you are well advised to join the Quebec Bar as then, you will always have the ability to practice (and don't give it up). Your chances are actually better this way too as you will have more life experience, perhaps will have done more in terms of ECs/volunteering (McGill is the only Quebec medical school that considering these). I think 3,6 is on the low side but then again, the level of difficulty may raise your academic standing. Karma graduated from law before going to Laval med school and she will have first hand experience, why not send her a PM and obtain her view. You deifintely should expand horizons to the French speaking schools. As a Plan B, Sherbrooke has an entente with Queen's to take their LLB (Common Law) one year program and they have the one year Masters, including being able to commence at the Castle in the UK ansd even finish in December. You have marvelous options before you, best of luck!

Well being a Quebec resident really helps. I think you got a shot at interviews if you have better than average ECs and stuff.

 

I don't know too much about IP applications though since I just applied as OOP.

Everything is possible my friend ! Just give it a shot. You might loose 80$ for the registration fees, however, you might win a spot into med school !!

Those are some pretty decent stats, especially from a law background.

 

Just focus on the non-academic stuff you submit.

3.6 law school is probably good enough for an interview. Keep on working had.
