CV Question

In your opinion, is it better to categorize activities with specific headings (eg. community service and research) than clumping everything into only two headings (work experience remunerated and work experience non-remunerated)?

Do you think the headings are really important for McGill? I am asking because many of my activities fit in more than one category and I was thinking it would be more simplistic to just list my major activities in only those 2 big categories.

What do you think? Any advice?

Thanks!

The first set of headings sounds more like a standard categorization, unless the distinguishing factor among your activities is really the remuneration or lack thereof (and even then, I would use a heading like volunteering + extracurricular activities, or leadership + community service). You could make a case for fewer headings if your list of activities is relatively short.
