dreamerboy87
Hello, This is an inquiry for a friend of mine, who has been out of school for a very long time (+10 years). I'd like to know if McGill Medicine requires that you have taken the CÉGEP Science Courses no longer than 8 years before admission, like UdeM does. If anybody can facilitate this information, that would be very much appreciated! Thank you.
future_doc
Your friend should check out the new non-trad pathway for 3 applicants and if necessary, contact adcoms directly. He can gather the necessary information himself quite easily if he is motivated.
velocity35
I remember reading the 8 year rule somewhere on the McGill website. And that you have to take the MCAT to prove you are competent in science. However, like the previous poster mentioned, check with the admissions office concerning the non-traditional pathway. rmr
+1 future doc's response. Just to add some details: applicants considered in non-traditional pathway if working and have completed undergrad at least 3 years from app deadline. These non-trads are exempt from refreshing prerequisite courses if more than 8 years ago (but still must have completed them in CEGEP). http://www.mcgill.ca/medadmissions/applying/applicant-categories/non-traditional-pathway-quebec
dreamerboy87
Thank you for the answers. I think he doesn't qualify as a non trad because he hasn't started his undergrad yet. Is this correct? Thank you!
