The "true" response for many would be 1) money, 2) prestige 3) chicks. I doubt that would be very well-received This may not actually be true at all... if you work out the hours and work that goes into the pay, there's way easier and faster ways to get rich. Pay is also actually going down "they" say. I, for one, am also not looking to score chicks. Or guys. Money and/or prestige would also plausibly explain why so many people I know switch their career goals from Med to Law for no apparent reason.
