emma3
Hey! I am looking for some advice for my travel plans. I am arriving in Ottawa around 5 the night before my interview at Queen's at 8 am... I was planning on renting a car and driving down but I have never done that before and I don't know what the roads are like.. Also it is the end of March but still winter kinda.. what do you think the chances of the roads being really bad due to bad weather are? I was also thinking of just flying or taking the train.. I don't know anything about how the train works though! Any thoughts? Any advice much appreciated I promise
Lactic Folly
If you can make it to the Ottawa train station by that time, there is a VIA train that leaves at 1825 on weekdays and arrives in Kingston at 2033. Taking the train is pretty straightforward.. arrive at the station, get your passes (if you purchase tickets online, you can just go to a self-serve kiosk and print them out), line up at the gate, board, and hand over your ticket when the staff come by to collect it. thatonekid
I second the via reccomendation. You could also hold off on renting a car until closer to the interview day. That way the weather people will have a better idea about the forcast.

mm88
Planes don't fly between Ottawa and Kingston. AC Jazz only does TO <--> Kingston. Other option is to take the bus - Greyhound schedules are really not all that friendly and are very limiting, from what I hear. Train is your best bet - free wifi! TheProdigy_19
Taking the 401 between Ottawa and Kingston isn't that bad a drive imo, but yeah, using Via-rail/Greyhound would probably give you some time to relax.
