Which american schools should I apply to?

Recommended Posts

Hi I am a psyc student (finished my third year). I was just wondering which schools I should apply to with

-gpa of 3.7

-not much volunteer experience

-mcat to be done in september (and hopefully a successful one)

-permanent resident in Canada

are there schools that don't require mcat and are easy to get in in the U.S.?

if not, which Caribbean universities do you suggest

thanks a lot in advance

(I also lack organic chem, biochem and english so I can't apply to most Canadian universities)

-gpa of 3.7

This is not bad, you should be thinking of Canadian ones first before US. A more detailed breakdown with courseload would be helpful

-not much volunteer experience

no clinical experience = looks bad to US adcoms

-mcat to be done in september (and hopefully a successful one)

big risk with MCAT unknown. Also your app to US will be late if you are writing in Sept

-permanent resident in Canada

not good. Many US schools want Canadian citizens

As far as I know most, if not all US MD and DO schools want the MCAT

don't think about this option yet, IMG is worst case scenario

Canadian med schools are much more lenient than US for prereqs. Did you know schools like UWO, Mac has NO prereqs?
