Family med in Quebec

I have read somewhere that family docs in quebec make on average 170k in 2005-2006 in this link

http://secure.cihi.ca/cihiweb/products/FTE_APP_2005_Eng_final.pdf

but I just got told today that it's posted somewhere on CaRMS site that a `pure` family doc in Montreal (no EM, no Ob-Gyn, only CLSC clinics...) makes only 100k TODAY ...

this it true???

anyone? any idea?

or someone has the link about it on CaRMS?????

i don't know. some gps only bill 70k or less if they work half time so if you average it out...there's also other fees like wcb that add another 20% to income. at least in BC family docs can bill from 100K up to i've seen 500K with no EM, no obs but BC has higher taxes and cost of living. I think family docs make good money considering there's never any call and you have total control over your own hours. sometimes patients can be annoying though.

SanteInc, a magazine in quebec (it's in french) publishes the revenus for quebec physician every year...

you can find the 2009 numbers here:http://www.santeinc.com/file/nov10-06.pdf

GPs (omnipraticiens) had a mean revenu of 195 127$

about 1000 GPs had revenues less than 100 000$ probably because of part time work
