reflex
probably a 32 or 33 + cause we're canadian citizens and held to a higher standard. they will look at your overall more i would say, but don't have one score that's say..8 and the others 13 lol
RichardParker
I was interested in knowing this as well. Thanks for the question and reply. Along the same lines, does anyone have the link to the AAMC pdf file in which they give your chances of being accepted based on your GPA and MCAT. eg if you have 3.7/30 you have a 70% (or something) chance of being accepted based on previous matriculants. I saw it once but forgot to save it.
RichardParker
k found it, if anyone is interested... https://www.aamc.org/download/157450/data/table24-mcatgpagridall2008-10.pdf.pdf These tables might be more relevant for Canadians because it sorts by 'state/country of legal residence' https://www.aamc.org/download/161698/data/table20-mcatgpa-state2010-web.pdf.pdf https://www.aamc.org/download/161700/data/table21-mcatgpa-statemat2010.pdf.pdf Quick Summary - In 2010 there were 991 applicants from Canada and 86 were accepted. The mean MCAT/GPA for applicants and matriculants was 30/3.54 and 33.4/3.74 respectively. Comeon
Thanks a lot for posting these. I would have never thought that such documents existed. ... only if my GPA was between 2.00 - 2.19 and I had a 33-35 MCAT, I would not have to worry about anything k found it, if anyone is interested...https://www.aamc.org/download/157450/data/table24-mcatgpagridall2008-10.pdf.pdf These tables might be more relevant for Canadians because it sorts by 'state/country of legal residence' https://www.aamc.org/download/161698/data/table20-mcatgpa-state2010-web.pdf.pdf https://www.aamc.org/download/161700/data/table21-mcatgpa-statemat2010.pdf.pdf Quick Summary - In 2010 there were 991 applicants from Canada and 86 were accepted. drake19
i think 30 is a req I currently attend an American medical school and 30 is definitely not a set requirement. The lowest score I have seen (unless you are under-represented minority) is a 27.
deathvvv
30 is probably a requirement for Canadians. Remember they are held to a higher "unwritten standard". Look at the accepted thread, in the last 3 years, nobody (CAD citizen only) below a 30 has gotten an acceptance at a US MD school I currently attend an American medical school and 30 is definitely not a set requirement. The lowest score I have seen (unless you are under-represented minority) is a 27.

It's not set in stone but as a CAD applicant to US schools ..... if your MCAT is less than 33, your chances of getting admitted to a US school are going to very slim. Only US citizens/PR can claim URM status.
