Guest Hsomnus
What is the lowest undergrad GPA that anyone has seen accepted for an American Medical School. I read of someone who was accepted at Harvard with a 3.20 in Computer Science. He also had a PhD and was a faculty member at another University. Guest hopeful
Hey, the answer to your question is... it varies In the us your science score counts more. Which means you can have 3.2 and yet have a 4.0 in your science courses. This makes you pretty competitive. Above all, mcat scores are very very important. If your mcat scores are stellar ,your gpa does not seem too big of a deal. I read once that a 2.2 gpa student went into medschool... what she did was do volunteer work related to med field for 2 years and shadowed an md etc... I hope this answers your question. also keep in mind for a us resident... there is close to 200 md schools to apply to. And your local state MD schools can be very forgiving if you have at least a b average.
