course selection

Does anyone know if there is a limit to the amount of first year courses one can take. After first year, i took a full year first year course in 2nd year and now I am taking one full credit at the first year level in fourth year. In lieu of the fact that the majority of my courses correspond with my year of study for each of my undergraduate years (ie 3/5 credits are at the fourth year level in fourth year and so on for each year) and that I have all the prereqs, is taking another full credit at level one going to be a problem for med school admissions?

If it's allowed by your degree (ie. you'll still be on track to graduate), I don't think the med schools will care. If you're really concerned, perhaps contact them directly. However, if you're allowed to do it within your degree program, chances are great that you haven't taken enough first year courses that anyone would actually notice or care.
