Post-interview thank-you emails

is it a good idea to write a thank-you email after interview?

 

should I write a mail to PD or coordinator, or both?

i am not sure my chances of actually being interviewed by the PD. If i am not, can i still shoot an email to PD though i didnt talk to him/her in person?

or just to the doc who interviewed me?

I'd be surprised if you did not meet the PD on interview day.

I'm not sure how many people do write thank you emails, but I did.

It would be appropriate to include the program coordinator for their work in organizing everything.

I mean, being actually interviewed by PD, not just seeing him from 3 yards away while he-she's presenting the program to every candidate.

I dont think everyone gets to have an Interview with the Program Director.
