rgol1988
I graduated with a BSc from Mcgill with a 3.3/4 which obviously isnt competitive enough for medical school I pursued a second degree (BA) in Psyc and will graduate this spring with a 3.9/4 (approx) I have tons of extracurriculars, volunteer work, leadership roles... my only caveat was my grades which I raised I applied this cycle to Mcgill but did not even get an interview unfortunately I am now looking to start a MSc at McGill and try applying again next cycle Has anyone been in a similar situation? It's becoming really difficult to stay motivated and perseverant
jojoluvsu2
ECs? MCAT? Are you applying to any other schools? Sounds like you're on the right track with a good GPA with your second UG degree. Look at some schools which only look at best years/last years/2nd UG (Queen's, Western, Dalhousie, Ottawa with their weighting formula). My only advice, make sure that your master's degree is in something you enjoy/could see as a viable backup career. Even among the most qualified of us hopeful premeds there are those who will not get in, and having a good back up option is a good idea.
shantytown27
Write the MCAT if you haven't already. Without it, you are severly limiting your ability to apply to other schools hence, also limiting, your chances to getting accepted.
