Continuing Education Courses at Ryerson

Hello:

I plan on doing some prerequisite courses in the summer time at Ryerson. Only continuing courses are offered in the summer and I'd like to know if anyone knows if medical schools consider these courses as prerequisites?

 

e.g the organic chem, bio etc.

I hope this doesn't sound like a silly question, but I was wondering how the workload in med school compares to the workload in an undergrad degree (I know this is probably a tough question to answer, since it really depends on the specific courses and program one takes in an undergrad, but if any med students can provide some feedback, I'd certainly appreciate it.

 

During my undergrad several years back, when I was contemplating a science degree, I used the rule of thumb that a course with a lab was the equivalent of 2 courses without labs (ie) I enrolled in three lab courses, which looked something like 8 courses without labs).

 

Now that I'm looking at a year of prereqs for med, if I want to get them all as quickly as possible, I'm looking at 3-4 lab courses per term.

 

How would 3 lab courses plus two non lab courses compare to the workload encountered during med school?
