Hi there,

For anyone who may be interested in NOMS, or if anyone knows any PhD graduates who have some university teaching experience who may be interested in a move up north, I just came across the following:

"Northern Ontario Medical School - Tenure-Track or Tenured Positions

A new medical school and joint venture of Laurentian and Lakehead Universities, the Northern Ontario Medical School (NOMS), has main campuses in Sudbury and Thunder Bay, and multiple teaching and research sites distributed across Northern Ontario.

NOMS invites applications for tenure-track or tenured positions. The faculty at NOMS are distributed among the Medical Sciences, Human Sciences and Clinical Sciences Divisions. Appointment will be at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. Individual positions may be located either in Sudbury or Thunder Bay and all faculty will have academic status at either Laurentian University or Lakehead University. Successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate medical students in a case-based curriculum, carry out externally funded innovative research, and participate in administrative activities. The minimum requirements are a Ph.D., or equivalent, teaching experience at the university level, and demonstrated experience in research. Experience teaching in small groups and a record of interdisciplinary teaching and research will be an advantage. Remuneration is competitive and will be based on qualifications and experience. Applications will be considered beginning January 26th, 2004 and all positions will remain open until filled. Successful applicants will be expected to take up their positions by September 2004.
