NLengr
I would say it depends on what specialty you're going into. But since everyone has to do ward medicine, I'd suggest grabbing a copy of Approach to Internal Medicine by Hui. It's useful on the wards, and far better than that Sabatine rag. I love sabatine. But I'm a surgeon so anything complex gets a referral to medicine from me. If you are on surgical specialties read about post op fever. You get a call or two a night for that. coastalslacker
I wouldn't read anything. Enjoy your freedom. Anything you read now will be out of context and will have a fraction of a chance of sticking compared to reading around your patients once you start. Low yield, but lots of folks do it. So many nervous people.
justletmein
why not grab a copy of "case files" for your respective specialty. It's usually easy reading, and the cases take max 10-15 min each so can be read leisurely throughout your time off. otherwise, as suggested, enjoy your time off while you can!!!
