Moving between provinces

When you're in fourth year med you travel all across Canada interviewing for residency positions. You get to rank your picks, the schools rank their applicants and CaRMS matches you up to a school. If you want UBC, do well at their interview and rank them high.

Not overtly - nothing like getting into medical school in the first place. I suppose it's within the realm of possibility that programs (especially more competitive ones) might look favourably on people who are a "known quantity" to them, but that's why there are away electives.
