Study Method for the MCAT

just a word about material to study: study until you know it. so no, it's not necessarily imperative that you read every word, but you'd be remiss if you deliberately skipped sections that you could have improved. for example, if your school has a solid orgo course and you've taken that... it may (note how i'm covering my arse here) give you enough background to answer the relevant orgo on the mcat. similarly, if you're a physics major, you probably won't have to really go over the physics sections that much. as long as you can (and do) score what you need to (be that a 9 or a 13), you're reading enough.
