pezeshkbartar
Hello, I have done some research with regards to volunteering; in the forum recommends do volunteering in something that you enjoy and passionate about. However, at the same time, I heard US schools put a lot emphasis on clinical volunteering; I was wondering if it is correct that US MD and DO schools put a lot of emphasis on clinical volunteering. In addition, would you guys recommend start volunteering at a hospital or volunteering at something that I enjoy such as dance club at university or as a soccer coach at a community centre. Thanks a lot for all the future responses.
Thomas86
There are many fields in the clinical volunteering, however they want you to participate in those sections that require you to interact with patients and doctors as much as you can, so you could figure out whether it is the right career for you. ellorie
Hey - Yes, from what I understand, US medical schools put a LOT more emphasis on "clinical experience" than schools in Canada do. If you want to know more about that, have you looked on StudentDoctor.net? They are a good source for info about the US process.
