Guest Air Mufasa
Hey Everyone, I'm very curious to know about how much PBL U of A incorporates into its medical program. I'm coming out of 4th year at Queen's and I feel that a periodic change from non-stop lectures would be refreshing. Can anyone shed light on this issue? Thanks, AM
Guest summervirus
Hi, There's quite a bit of info about the curriculum and PBL in this previous thread: p090.ezboard.com/fpremed1...=217.topic
Guest apical meristems
There is definitely a pile of PBL in first year. At least, I think. They switch up the groups each block, so you get to meet a lot of people. Cheers, ap
Guest Lactic Folly
There is less PBL in second year, but there are still many small group sessions to go through cases.
Guest MedAnxiety
PBL usually occurs 1-3 times per week, depending on the block (in first year anyway) and lasts for about 1-2 hrs/session. It's definitely a good way to keep you on top of things before the final/midterms and is a good refresher of the week's lectures. Hope this helps!
