UBC Pharmacy admission average

...from the admission website...

The academic admissions average is based on the 1st year prerequisite courses, with a minimum average of 65% required for an applicant to be considered for the program. Please note that, due to enrolment limitations, an average higher than this minimum is normally required for admission.

For applicants who have completed additional coursework at a university or college, beyond the 1st year level, the average will be based on the 1st year prerequisite courses PLUS (if taken) any courses from 2nd or 3rd year that are part of the undergraduate Pharmacy program.

...not an overall academic average... weird imo

That's either a VERY nice thing to have, or extremely stupid. So basically, if somebody screws up in first year (where they would do 90% of the pre-reqs), then they can't EVER improve their marks besides a couple of courses.

Chem 233/235 + MICB 202 + STAT 200 + ANAT 390+391 + PHYL 301 + BIOC 202 (Or BIOL 201)+302 are the 'couple of courses' you refer to.

A majority of the majors that you go into after first year will be taking a good portion of the upper level pre requisites. If you're in a major that covers a broad areas (CMS/Int. Sci/Gen Sci), then you can potentially take everything there except for BIOC 302.

So yes, they can improve even if they mess up first year.

Oh, wow. UBC is quite different from U of A then.

At the U of A, there isn't one course that you can take in your undergrad that is accepted as a part of Pharmacy program.
