Just curious, is there any international exchange for dental student in their 3rd or 4th year? I mean kinda like a summer clinical practice in another country. Which school has this kind of program? It would be interesting for students to see how different parts of the world practice dentistry.

from my knowledge there is no exchange for dentistry, at least not at mcgill. In medicine you can do your clerkship or rotation (watever its called) in some other countries but i think dentistry operates a little differently. However I think some US schools have externship programs in the summer, but I'm not sure if Canadian schools have similar programs. Let us know if you find out. :)

Laval has a program allowing you to do a summer in Paraguay helping people (especially) kids over there with their dental health (no toothbrushes and lost of sugar cane mean lots of work ;) ). Although it isn't a student exchange program, it is credited by Laval. I believe there is also an exchange with a few universities in France for students beginning their 4th year.
