nauru
... does that mean UBC is basically a no-go for residency? Or is there a chance that upon matching to UBC, you could spend all five years (or nearly all) working at a medical facility/institution in Kelowna or Vernon or Nanaimo or some other smaller city in BC while being 'affiliated' with the UBC residency program? How likely is it? And how much influence can the individual have on that likelihood? By Vancouver I mean the metropolitan area.
Lactic Folly
Depends on the residency. Like many schools, UBC has rural family medicine residencies that post you in another community. The 5-year programs will allow for community elective time, but I'm not sure how much time you could spend away from the academic centre.
