Bonjour tout le monde!

 

En faite, je suis en gros questionnement depuis quelques jours et j'aimerais savoir si mon idée est complètement stupide ou si ça tient la route.

 

Mon parcours est assez complexe! J'ai terminer le secondaire en 2010 et j'ai ensuite pris 2 années sabbatiques a aller étudié (pour le plaisir) dans 2 autre pays et voyager en même temps. Ensuite, en revenant, j'ai décidée de m'inscrire a l’université (4 ans) dans le canada anglais (il m'acceptait sans que j'ai fait de cégep). J'ai termine ma première année (il y a 1 mois en fait) avec une GPA de 4.2 sur 4.3.

 

Donc, maintenant, mon but était de termine mon bac et d'appliquer dans une université anglaise en médecine. (je parle couramment anglais donc pas de problème a ce niveau). Je ne pourrais pas appliquer au Qc car je n'ai pas tout les préalables nécessaires ici. La, je suis en train de me demander si je devrais pas aller au Cégep cet automne, faire 2 ans de sc. nat' et ensuite, appliquer en med au Quebec.

 

Ça reviendrais moins chère mais j'ai peur de pas avoir un cote R assez forte et que je perde 2 ans de ma vie. Et j'ai aussi 20 ans donc j'ai peur de me sentir trop vieille pour le cegep...

 

Enfin en gros, après ce super long texte, désolé, je me demandais si je devrais continuer mon bac puisque j'ai déjà commencer (+ faire le mcat) ou aller au cégep pour ensuite appliquer en med au Qc (ou med dent'/optométrie aussi m'insterese) ?

First off I would like to congratulate you on doing well on your first year.

I will now attempt to answer some of your questions.

 

Obviously you do realize that you need to complete your cegep pre-reqs (chem1/2, bio1/2, organic chem 1, phys 1/2/3) in order to apply for med. The fact of the matter is you need these pre-reqs for any french and english medschool in or outside the province. In some cases, such as ottawa and toronto you will also need organic 2 and or biochemistry.

 

You will also need to do the MCAT for schools outside of quebec and canada.

Fortunately you do not need the MCAT for any med schools in quebec.

 

I would highly recommend you do your pre-reqs in cegep, some of my classmates from university are doing theirs in cegep at dawson while studying at the university level. I feel this is a great plan as it will fufill the pre-req requirements without hurting your university gpa.

 

You could also go back to cegep and do a DEC in health science as you mentionned, but if you dont get in directly you will have to go back to university.

 

Personally, If I was in your situation I would stay in university and just do my pre-reqs at cegep while maintaining a high gpa and a full course load.

actually, i talked with my parents tonight and they don't really want me to go to cegep anyway (and i'm pretty sure going there will just be reaaaally boring after thinking about it seriously ) so i'll just continue my bachelor and do my pre-reqs (i'm only done with bio) during the next 2 years, take the mcat and then, decide if i want to stay in quebec or not.
