Edict
Does anyone know if Australian and British med schools are recognized in Canada? Thanks in advance! [sorry, realized I've posted in the wrong section] They are recognized insofar as to say you are eligible to apply for residency provided you are a Canadian citizen and if you are a fully trained physician trained in those countries you can apply to work in Canada. These schools aren't LCME accredited meaning you can't apply for Canadian residency spots like Americans can. Legally you are considered no different than any other IMED or FAIMER recognized medical school in terms of being able to apply However, assuming you are applying for residency, PDs may have different preferences which could favor an Australian or British medical graduate. A number of doctors working in Canada are from the UK or Ireland however most completed their training in the UK before moving here.
