anp89
Hi Everyone, This is my first post here. I am a medical student in Ontario and I'm writing on behalf of myself and my partner, who is a Canadian who studied medicine abroad. We will be applying to CaRMS this fall in order to begin our post-graduate studied in July 2014. We intend to apply to CaRMS as a couple and would appreciate any advice/insight into the process. From everyone that we've spoken to so far, it seems that the CMG/IMG combination is quite unique. If anyone has personal experience with a similar situation or knows someone else who has applied in this manner, it would be great to hear from you! Thanks! Hintobean
Hi anp89, The threads "Please Help me." and "Heavens have Smiled Upon Me...{Got A POSITION}" from this forum (they're fairly high up on the front page) would be a really good place to start. A fellow pm101er (genfam) went through this situation in this year's match and it seems to have been a bit of a strenuous journey. I think there are some insights in those threads that could help you.
leviathan
I dont think he couples matched, though. I know a few sets of IMGs that couples matched successfully via CaRMS but I've never heard of CMG/IMG doing it. I don't see how it would make a difference though. Hintobean
Posts 18 and 19 of the thread "Please help me." Suggest that genfam (CMG) and his wife (IMG) unsuccessfully tried to do a couples match in CaRMS but obviously I could have misinterpreted
