Der Kaiser
I've searched around for this, but can't find anything specific for Canadian grades. For courses with labs do we put 4.0 credit hours or 3.0 (i know Americans get 4 per course with lab, just wondering what we as Canadians should do). DoubleA
From the AMCAS instruction manual (page 41): Indicate your credit hours or units exactly as they appear on your transcript even though the field does not have a red asterisk. Do not attempt to enter conversions based on the Grade Conversion Guide or any other conversion method. For lab courses, just add 'and Lab' to the end of the course name. AMCAS will deal with it in the process of verification.
Der Kaiser
Thanks so much for that! I did not even think to check the manual.
sheenmougeh
Anyone knows what is the course type "honors" (a special course type for American application). I am studying for Honors Bachelor degree in Canadian university. Does this mean that all courses I completed are "honors courses"? Thanks.
Der Kaiser
This is mentioned on the COMSA website but I am going to mention it here for other students with the same question (who take the time to do a google search). For AACOMAS (osteopathic schools) it looks like you enter the semester hours exactly as they appear, but if the course has a lab you write (with lab) after the course title. Apparently you should also send in an OMSAS grade conversion chart with your transcript/s.

gobigorgohome
To the OP, I'm pretty sure my credit hours were all shorter than the requirements and it was fine. Just follow the AMCAS booklet and your transcript.
