CaRMS CV and electives

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about this:

Let's say im applying to specialty X and did several electives in that specialty...but also backing up with less competitive specialty Y (in which i did less electives). Now, the online carms site requires you to fill the CV with all your electives, which will be visible to all programs you apply to. Any suggestions on how to avoid this? Is it bad not to write down your electives in the general cv section and instead write them in your personal CV to send to specific programs?

Hope I'm being clear. Thanks for any input.

They will be able to see all your electives that you choose to fill in. The only thing you can do is just to put them all in. It's debatable how much this ends up mattering, and this will vary from program-to-program, but there's not much choice about it. Leave explanation for your rotations in your letters and interview, with whatever spin you choose to plan on them accordingly.
