Men and facial hair

Hi therere:

What do you folks (particularly the men) think about facial hair for an interview? Medicine, despite what anyone says, continues to be dominated by conservative types so this question is particularly important.

While some may wear full beardse, goatees or moustaches for religious reasons, others are simply making a statement which matches their personality, but does facial hair come across as offensive or unsightly?

I really am serious, despite the potentially silly nature of my question. Is a well-trimmed beard or goatee acceptable in an interview setting or are those people going against the grain on conformity?

<title>Suit Choices?</title>

<pagetext>Hi all!

Okay for a "conservative" suit, where is the line drawn between conservative-dull and conservative-modern?

For example, I have a dark suit that is a textured dark brown/black colour + white shirt + light tie (yellow Hilfiger...not a flashy dashy yellow, closer to gold). The combination is not "out there" but to me it seems within bounds with the tie acting as the link to the lighter side of me (;) ). What are your opinions? Good, bad? I have a navy blue suit too but it makes me look preppy....

Thanks

<title>Re: Health care system comparisons</title>

<pagetext>Hi guys

I had questions regd the Health Care systems of a # of countries - I heard that interviewers ask applicants to list a couple of salient features of each and compare it to Canada.

From what I know (please correct me if I am wrong)

1. Canada - Univ health care system (medicare)

* Alberta has the hybrid public-private system going

2. US - privatised mostly (medicaid)

3. Sweden - public private hybrid

4. Australia and UK? Germany? (@#%$ I forgot which) used to have something similar to Canada but it fell apart

5. UK - if its not #4, what is it?

Other asides

- is there anything valuable about the USA health care system that should or could be applied to improve that in Canada?

- regd. the health ministers and the people in govermental positions that play an imp role in maintaining health care, where can we find their names? I tried looking on the Govt of Canada Health care site, but I was unsucccessful

Comments?

Thanks...
