legality issues

Anyone know what the legal issues are surronding treatment of a child? If a parent doesn't want his/her child treated, but you know that it's the only way to make them better, do you have a legal obligation to treat the child, or does the parent have the legal right to prevent treatment?I keep thinking about it and I'm really not sure what I would do in this situation.
