Is appearance important in getting admission?

I was thinking about that following my interview. Do you think that looks count in the appreciation of the interviewee? Do you think that a good looking, handsome and tall individual has more chances of admission? (For both male and female candidates).

I was just reading over the rural medicine thread, and it seems that there are many recommendations to address that problem. What I find more challenging is, how do we address the shortage of family physicians? It seems that after so many years in medical school, students become interested in specializing or in other areas of primary care.

 

In other words, how can increase the number of graduates entering family medicine?
