Guest misagh
Hello, great question... A physician is a learned and trusted friend in the community and in society in general. The physician provides comprehensive health care, potentially encompassing mental, physical, and spiritual care, guidance, and support. The physician is in a position to effect change in people's lives, by encouraging healthy lifestyles and healthy living. Because they serve people in such a capacity, physicians in general tend to be accorded much respect and admiration; this respect and admiration can (and I believe should) be used towards positive ends, namely what I stated above (encouraging mentally/physically/spiritually healthy lifestyles, being agents of social change with regards to human rights, etc.) that's just my sixpence worth, I'm sure I'm leaving out a lot... - misagh
