two0nine
Unfortunately American Schools don't look at any sort of weighted GPA. However they are much more holistic in their approach and do not have hard cut offs for their programs. None that are reported anyways.
MD2B2019
After a year search for Canadian friendly USA MD schools, I'll say, there is NO weighted GPA. BUT there is science GPA calculated by AMCAS which included courses from BPCM-Biology,Physics,Chemistry,Math.
MD2B2019
Yes, Statistics and ALL Biology courses are BPCM science courses. But Psychology, Anthropology, Computer, etc are NOT BPCM life science courses.
two0nine
Wishful Doctor, technically speaking DO schools do have a "weighted GPA". They replace grades if you re-take a class. So if you took orgo and you got a C, and then you took it again and got an A, they would only count the A, not the C. This goes for all classes that have been re-taken, but you must prove that it is the same class.

JohnGrisham
Ah, interesting. So does the course have to be labelled ''biology'' or does something like an anatomy or physiology course count towards a ''biology''? And would something like organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry be including under chemistry then? Google amcas course classification. Yes, anat and physiology count. As well as ochem and med chem under chem.
advair250
Some US schools will look more favourably on your last 120 credits. And strong upward trends can salvage low overall gpa's. See 209 as a great example.
