northwestern requires an english course...i have a credit from the international baccalaureate program and ihave taken several other humanities courses with extensive writing components...will that suffice? how flexible are they on the english requirmeent?

i really don't know, you should call them to ask. Generally though, IB credit probably won't count, so to be safe you should take the course anyway.
