Edict
Do you guys feel that Canadian USMGs are limited in matching either in USA or Canada? - No For visa, its not a big concern as you are on a F1 visa in med school, then you can go on an OPT visa for your PGY-1 while the residency program applies for your H1B, this makes its easier for them as they aren't rushed to get your H1B, it also allows you to be on the path to citizenship. Rest assured if you go to a US MD school you are fine. The match rate might be lower in Canada because a lot of people may be super selective in their CaRMS apps since they may prefer a US school over many Canadian schools. For example lets say you are a potential at a top tier US program. You might only want to apply to CaRMS in your home town so you might rank 1 program since you only want that program over your potential US match. If you don't match there you want a chance at the US. Remember that CaRMS match happens before the US NRMP match. This means that if you match in Canada you are automatically withdrawn from the US. JohnGrisham
Yes, for all intensive purposes you are USMG by attending a US school.
GGGSaint
You are treated the same. All of the US is open in any specialty if you are competitive enough (and this has nothing to do with citizenship status).
