Guest Chowchilla
i'm in my 2nd year right now, and for my first semester, i had a course load of 4 courses. starting next semester, i'll be taking 6 courses to balance the entire year out for a full year course load. so basically, 3.5 full year courses, and 1.5 half courses. how would most med schools take this into consideration? secondly, for my 2nd semester, one of my courses is a 3rd year course. again, do med schools take that into consideration? thanks. =chow=
Guest Elaine I
Most med schools consider full time status to be 5.0 courses per year. I don't know of any that care how many you took each semester, or if they were full or half courses. Therefore, by taking 2.0 this semester and 3.0 next semester, you'll still be considered full time for the year. I don't think you'll get any special consideration for taking a third year course in second year. Elaine
Guest strider2004
actually, you need 5 full-time courses per year or equivalent. It can be 4/6, 3/7 5/5, whatever as long as it adds up to 5/year on average. However, 2 in one semestre and 3 in the next don't count as 5 full courses. That's only 2.5.
